About Blackwater Mine:
Situated 73 kilometres south-east of Emerald, Blackwater is the second-largest open-cut metallurgical coal mine in the Bowen Basin. This long-life operation began in 1967 and has grown to become one of the longest coal mines in the Southern Hemisphere, with a strike length of 80 kilometres. Blackwater extracts high quality metallurgical and thermal coal for the export market using truck and shovel, as well as loader and dragline.About the Role
As an Assistant, you will provide exceptional administrative support to the Manager Maintenance. If you consider yourself to be positive and possess a willingness to learn, then please apply. You will have a great chance to liaise with a wide range of supportive and engaging stakeholders.
What You’ll do
- Ensure accurate data entry into Whitehaven systems
- Process all maintenance records
- Filing duties and diary management
- Support the Manager Maintenance with administrative and clerical assistance
- Provide general admin assistance to the site
What You’ll Bring
- MS Office experience
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- High attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Basic accounting principles (e.g. payroll, accounts payable and receivable)
- Positive attitude and a willingness to adapt in a fast-paced environment
