About the Role 

Reporting to the Drill and Blast Superintendent, the Supervisor - Explosives will be responsible for the coordination of drill and blast activities at Vickery Mine. 

What You’ll Do

• Liaise with Drill & Blast Superintendent to organise pre-blasting clean up and preparations and ensure patterns are prepared to the required standard.
• Oversee drilling, loading and firing of shots.
• Maintain Drill and Blast component of schedule and communicate sequence and requirements to Operations and Tech Services.
• Liaise with explosive and drilling suppliers to maintain adequate stock levels
• Develop and maintain plans, designs and blast packs for all shots

What You’ll Bring

• OCE ticket or Shot Firer’s certificate (desirable)
• Experienced in the provision of drilling and blasting activities within an Open Cut mining environment
• Knowledge of the risk management, safe work practices and statutory requirements required to create and maintain a safe work environment
• Demonstrated safe and productive management of mine plant and facilities
